6.7 dp 4 - Or 99 Bugs Pushed off the Wall
We have just released the latest test release of 6.7, and the detailed release notes show that we have together squished no fewer than 99 bugs for this release! Way to go team, and thank you all for your invaluable help with this.
Also creeping in with this release is a small New Feature: Clipboard Styled Text Accessor. A new clipboard format has been added 'styledText'. This format returns (or sets) the clipboard to a styled text array - the same format as the 'styledText' property of field chunks. All text formats can convert to and from the 'styledText' key. For example, you can now do:
set the clipboardData["styledText"] to the styledText of line 5 of field 3
set the styledText of line 6 of field 3 to the clipboardData["styledText"]
Note that the dragData can now also be used with this new format in exactly the same way.
If, like many in our community, you are still confused as to which is the latest shipping release, and what features are being introduced with which version, please see this article explaining why we have three separate version threads ongoing...
Facebook Library Now Works on Mobile
Great news. Last edition we reported on Andre Garzia's new Facebook library for Mac/Windows. This library now works on Desktop and Mobile. There are two library files bundled with your download. One is aagFacebookLib.livecode which is intented for the Desktop and the other is aagFacebookMobileLib.livecode that should be used with Mobile. Both libraries work the same but their internal code is different.
A new demo has been bundled called aagFacebookMobileLib.demo.livecode that can be used with Mobile. This demo was configured for Android so if you're doing iOS then you should go to theStandalone Settings and change things.
User Meetup in Zurich
Bjoernke Von Gierke sent me this information: This June, the first LiveCode meeting in Zurich will happen! The date and place have been settled (see below). We're not yet completely sure about what we'll actually do during that afternoon, but here's some decided things:
- Mark will give away a copy of his book "Programming Livecode for the Real
Beginner". Get it directly from the author!
- A suggested topic of discussion: Why doesn't LiveCode catch on, why don't People get it?
- If you have a fun topic idea, want to demo your software or would like to
present something a bit longer/more formally then don't hesitate to contact me directly.
- If the weather is right I'll do a historic tour through the city of Zurich on the
day after the meeting (Sun, 29. June).
When: Saturday 28. June 2014 13:00 to 17:00 (extension into dinner very likely)
Where: Karl der Grosse
Kirchgasse 14
8001 Zürich

Global Jam - Get Involved
Global Jam is starting today. To find out what is happening, when, and how you can take part, fire up your copy of RevNet - yes, you do have it! - and go to Schedule of Events.
Secret tip: Open up your copy of LiveCode, either Community or Commercial. Go to Development/Plugins/GoRevNet. Wow. Bet you never knew that was there.
